*scat*
I've been spendin' way too long checkin' my tongue in the mirror and bendin' over backwards just to try to see it clearer But my breath fogged up the glass and so I drew a new face and I laughed I guess what I'd be sayin' is there ain't no better reason to rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons it's what we aim to do our name is our virtue
But I won't hesitate no more, no more it cannot wait I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me open up your plans and damn you're free look into your heart and you will find that the sky is yours
so please don't, please don't, please don't, there's no need to complicate, Cause our time is short This, this, this is our fate, I'm yours
September 18, 2007, A professor at Carnegie Mellon named Randy Pausch gave a powerful lecture in front of 400 people in the university. His lecture was about "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," he talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. He also wrote a famous book based on the same principles entitled "The Last Lecture", celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities. He may have lost his battle to cancer, but his last lecture will always inspire people.
from the website of Carnegie Mellon University about Randy Pausch... "Almost all of us have childhood dreams; for example, being an astronaut, or making movies or video games for a living. Sadly, most people don’t achieve theirs, and I think that’s a shame. I had several specific childhood dreams, and I’ve actually achieved most of them. More importantly, I have found ways, in particular the creation (with Don Marinelli), of CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center of helping many young people actually *achieve* their childhood dreams." - Randy Pausch, Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008
FACTS: Mount Kinabalu is the fourth tallest mountain in Southeast asia (4,095 meters). It is located in Kinabalu National Park (a World Heritage Site) in the east Malaysian state of Sabah, which is on the island of Borneo in the tropics.
Finally, the Mount Kinabalu trip is going well as planned our plane tickets are booked, guide and accomodation is settled, so now I just need to train to be fit to climb and some last minute shopping with the guys. I am really excited that finally one bucket list will be crossed out "climb Mount Kinabalu" check. And will get to spend time with my housemate. I will post about this trip soon.
"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you." - William James (psychologist/philosopher)
Secure browsing with your Gmail email account is now possible using https but the only down side is it will make browsing your email slower but you don't have to worry anymore about security when you use public wifi or shared computers.
